OVERVIEW
About Face is both an architectural object and a vessel for small gatherings. It is a sleeve cut through a domestic space, originally conceived for a house in Detroit, and transformed into a freestanding exhibition object in Venice, Italy. Twenty-one structurally integrated, fiber-reinforced resin panels make up the structure, which is both stair and room. About Face posits a strategy to reorient an existing house and transform the adjacent vacant lot.
